snow fun This is my eighth year teaching and I love every minute of it!  One of the
reasons why I love being an ESL teacher is the fact that I get to learn about
the different cultures and customs of my students.  I am a first generation
American and my family immigrated to the United States from Italy many years
ago.  I admire their courage to move and start a new life in a foreign
country.

I graduated from American University and received my masters degree from
Fordham University.  I love to read and write, and I pass down my passion for
literacy to my students.  The students learn how to read, write, listen and
speak in English through various media in the classroom.  I am so excited to
work with my students again and to meet new ones!

The goal of my ESL Class is to help students acquire the English language
for social and academic settings.  The students learn how to read, write,
listen and speak in English in small groups to enhance their learning.  They
practice by reading a variety of literature (poems, plays, chapter books,
newspapers) writing for various audiences, discussing current events, and by
working together.  The students will become familiar with favorite story
characters, conduct experiments, and explore the world around them.
My ultimate goal is to have the students become confident and comfortable in
speaking English to their peers, family, friends and the entire school
community.
